House Designing Software | 3D Home Design

3D home design software products are rather interesting to me. I'm all about figuring stuff out on my own, and I'm all about software solutions. That's why I'm excited about using house designing software to design a house.

Computer aided design (CAD) programs have come a long way recently. When we finished our basement, we used some software that my dad bought years earlier. Our basement wasn't real complicated, so it didn't matter much that the software was fairly simplistic. At the time it was cool to see a 3d render of the future basement. Nowadays, it's expected, and it had better have realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections.

Who knew that there are so many different options for 3D home design software? If you're in the market for house designing software, here is just a small subsection of the options you'll have to sift through.

  • Plan3D Online Home Design Tool
  • HGTV Home Design and Remodeling Suite
  • Punch Home & Landscape Design
With all these home design software options (and probably 10 or so more) to consider, it's difficult to decide which one is right for your project. Over the next few posts, I plan to discuss these options and why they would or would not be the best house designing software choice for how to build house.
